OK, so an internet connection is really hard to get here. I apologize for the cluster update, and almost at the end of the trip! I just expected Wifi to be as easily had over here as in North America. Huh!
Update from Tuesday September 9:
Tap's score from the St. Harmon trial (last Tuesday) was relayed to me via Kate Collins and George Northrup (NEBCA members from MA), who were there braving the rain and watching until the end. Tap ended up with only 15 off (so, an 85), which, at the time we left, was (I believe) the highest score. I am very pleased with this result as the standard was high and dogs were being called off for one mistake. I am sure there were better runs later on (these “little” local trials seem to very large entries – like 75 to 100 dogs – possibly because of the number of dogs competing from Europe). So Tap made it through 2 tough standards. (Poor Pat didn’t make a singe fetch gate!) The last trial – Penybont still had over 30 dogs to run at 5 pm, so they made a decision to only allow 1 dog per handler at that point. BAD for handlers who ran late. Our car was parked so far away and I was up to run pat so didn’t have time to go back and swap dogs. And guess what? Pat didn’t make her fetch gates AGAIN.
It was raining (surprise) so I didn’t take any pictures.
The dogs are FILTHY, as are their crates, the car, and our clothes….Go away rain!
